HOURS & ENTRANCE

Main entrance is by the flag poles and can be used for pick up and drop off and the ONLY entrance used for early dismissal.  Gym entrance is only open before and after school.

What time does school start? 8:30 a.m.

What time can students enter the building? 7:45 AM

What time does school end? 3:55 PM


ATTENDANCE

How do I report a student's absence? Click Here To Report Student Absence

What if my student arrives late? Please send them to campus with a note that includes: student's first and last name, date, and reason and signed by the parent. If your student was a medical appointment please send them back to school with the note from the doctor.

What time is attendance taken each day? Within the first 10 minutes of every class period.


TRANSPORTATION

***New students will need to wait 72 hours to be eligible to ride the bus.***

How will the car line work this year? HERE

Can I park in the staff parking lot and wait for my student?

No, please do not park in a spot and wait.  We do not want students moving in between traffic. 

Can my child ride the bus home with a friend (on a different route) or leave school with a friend?

No. Students are no longer allowed to ride a bus that they are not assigned to ride. 


MISCELLANEOUS

Does AMS have a public restroom? No.

Where can I check grades and attendance? Family Access

Where do I fill out the background check so I can volunteer on campus? Background Check

What do I do if my child forgets something at home?

Parents may drop off items at the table in the entryway. Please make sure it is labeled and that you notify your student.

Will my student have a chromebook? 

Chromebooks will be issued before school begins. We will send out more information as it is available.

How do I monitor my child's activity on their Chromebook?

NUTRITION

Where do I go to set up and/or put money on my student’s lunch account? Student Nutrition

Who has the ID numbers needed to set up the account? It is on the students schedule and in Family Access.

May I bring outside food to my child for lunch?

Yes. There are tables in the entryway where you can leave the lunch.  Please make sure it is LABELED and that YOU notify your student. 

Every lunch dropped off must be packaged individually with one student's name on the bag or container.  Party trays or bags with multiple student lunches in them will not be allowed in the cafeteria. 

Can I send food to the school for my student via food delivery options (ex. Uber Eats, Pizza Hut, Grub Hub, etc.)

No. Food deliveries by anyone other than a guardian/family member will not be accepted and returned with the driver. 

Can I put restrictions on my child’s lunch account for extra’s or dietary restrictions?

Is there any place for students to warm up food at lunch? 

No, please do not send food that will need to be warmed. 

Can anyone warm up food for my child? 

No. 


MEDICATION

What do I do if my child needs to take medication while at school?

Medications that need to be administered to a student during school hours must be provided by the student’s parent.  All medication, whether prescription or nonprescription, must be kept in the nurse’s office and administered by the nurse.

  • Please fill out the Permission To Administer Medication form to submit to the campus nurse.
  • Prescription medication, in the original, properly labeled container, provided by the parent, along with a written request.
  • Prescription medication from a properly labeled unit dosage container filled by a registered nurse or another qualified district employee from the original, properly labeled container.
  • Nonprescription medication, in the original, properly labeled container, provided by the parent along with a written request.
